Chemistry Study Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) in collaboration with PT Indotech successfully organised a workshop and seminar on the topic "Fundamentals of Theory and Operation of HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)" on 27-28 June 2024. This two-day event was held offline di Gedung KH. Hasjim Asj’arie (Lantai 6,  khusus untuk mahasiswa UNJ) dan secara online via Zoom Cloud Meetings for students, practitioners, and chemistry lecturers outside UNJ. The seminar featured Mr. Purnama an experienced Analytical Chromatography Specialist from PT Indotech, as the speaker.

The workshop and seminar aimed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the HPLC instrument, which is crucial and widely used in various laboratory research settings. Participants gained invaluable experience through this event. On the first day of the seminar, 27 June 2024, participants received comprehensive instruction on the basic concepts of HPLC, including its functions, fundamental principles, components and their functions, sample types, and how to interpret chromatograms. On the second day, 28 June 2024, participants had the opportunity to assemble the HPLC instrument and observe demonstrations of its operation. This session was directly guided by the expert speaker from PT Indotech. Additionally, the interactive question-and-answer and discussion sessions fostered high enthusiasm among the audience, as evidenced by the active participation of attendees throughout the event.

This hybrid event not only deepened the participants' academic knowledge but also enhanced the practical skills of the students. PT Indotech, as the industry partner, provided full support, including HPLC equipment and experienced instructors.

The successful organisation of this HPLC workshop and seminar is expected to equip students with relevant knowledge and skills in analytical chemistry, preparing them to face challenges in the workforce and research fields. Furthermore, the collaboration between the UNJ Chemistry Study Programme and PT Indotech is anticipated to continue and make significant contributions to the development of science and technology in Indonesia.
