🩸 WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY 🩸

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year by people around the world on June 14. The day is commemorated to coincide with the birth of Karl Landsteiner, on June 14, 1868. Karl Landsteiner is considered the founding father of modern blood transfusion.

This commemoration aims to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion as well as to recognize volunteer blood donors. Blood donation can save a life or even several lives at once. However, it is not only beneficial for the recipient. As donors, we will also benefit our own health.

The theme for this year's World Blood Donor Day, June 14, 2022 is "Blood donation is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives".
