National Red Cross Day is commemorated every September 17.The date is set according to the date of establishment of PMI on September 17, 1945.

The Indonesian Red Cross was legally established by Presidential Decree No. 25 of 1950 and was confirmed as the only organization carrying out the duties of head of the ministry through Presidential Decree No. 246 of 1963.
