On Thursday, July 3rd, 2025<\/strong>, the Department of Mathematics<\/strong>, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), successfully held a Community Service Program<\/strong> entitled “Training for MGMP Mathematics Teachers in Preparing Students for Mathematics Olympiads.”<\/strong> This program reflects the department\u2019s commitment to improving mathematics education through capacity-building initiatives for school teachers.<\/p>\n

The participants of this program were 27 mathematics teachers<\/strong> who are members of the MGMP (Subject Teachers\u2019 Forum) for Madrasah Mathematics<\/strong>, coming from various schools in the DKI Jakarta region and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

The objectives of this training were as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    To enhance teachers\u2019 pedagogical and professional competence in preparing students for mathematics competitions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    To introduce effective strategies and techniques in solving Olympiad-level problems.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    To foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between mathematics educators and academics.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The training was conducted offline (face-to-face)<\/strong> in one of the classrooms at FMIPA UNJ, facilitated by lecturers from the Department of Mathematics. The training materials included:<\/p>\n

      Strategic approaches to problem-solving in mathematics Olympiads<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Pattern recognition and problem types in national-level Olympiads<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Simulation and discussion of real OSN (National Science Olympiad) questions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The sessions were highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions and problem-solving activities. Each participant received a training module and a certificate of participation as recognition for their involvement.<\/p>\n

      The event concluded with a reflection session, where participants expressed their appreciation and the usefulness of the training. Many also conveyed the hope that similar programs would be held regularly in the future.<\/p>\n

      Through this activity, the Department of Mathematics at UNJ reaffirms its dedication to supporting mathematics teachers and improving student achievements, particularly in the field of mathematics Olympiads.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
