ICANDO Strives for Academically Proven Products

After being the winner of Octava Social Innovation Challenge organized by MIT Solve in early 2022, edtech startup from Indonesia, ICANDO, continues to make efforts to improve the quality of its products, which are game-based learning applications.

A startup focused on early childhood education recently announced that they have officially collaborated with the State University of Jakarta (UNJ), in particular with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, State University of Jakarta (FMIPA UNJ).

“FMIPA UNJ has proven to be a thinker, ten educators, and great scientists who master the fields of science and pedagogy. We believe this collaboration is able to bring ICANDO to further hone the 21st century skills of children with STEM-based learning so that it can produce future generations of scientists and innovators,” said Syaiful Lokan, CEO and founder ICANDO in a press release. , Monday (9/4/2022).

It was stated that FMIPA UNJ would later help ICANDO accommodate the latest research results in Mathematics and Natural Sciences to strengthen and improve STEM-based ICANDO learning content.

The main focus of this collaboration is to research the effectiveness of ICANDO as an educational application, including

  1. Monitoring children’s learning activities in the application
  2. Measure the quality of existing content
  3. Together developing, improving, or providing new innovations that have been academically researched are able to optimize children’s abilities through interactive learning methods.

ICANDO will also be a forum to accommodate internship students from UNJ which can be an opportunity for them to get directly involved in overcoming Indonesian education problems, such as traditional learning methods and learning gaps between regions of Indonesia and between Indonesia with other countries by equipping teachers with the best science learning content for students.

The Dean of FMIPA UNJ, Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih, M.Sc., hopes that the synergy between FMIPA UNJ and ICANDO can have a big impact on the realm of education and help increase the contribution of the academic communityby applying their expertise in Mathematics and Natural Sciences to people outside the university.

In line with Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih, Syaiful Lokan hopes to provide continuous support for human resources between the two parties so that they can jointly improve the quality of education for Indonesian children by providing quality innovative learning, affordable, and easily accessible for all Indonesian children without exception.
