SEMINAR AND LAUNCHING STEM CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE: FMIPA UNJ

Kolaborasi Pendidikan Penelitian Seminar

Monday, June 27, 2022, FMIPA UNJ inaugurated the STEM Center of Excellence: FMIPA UNJ through the “Seminar and Soft Launching of the STEM Center of Excellence: FMIPA UNJ” with the theme “Opportunities and Challenges of STEM Education in Different Contexts.  The speakers in this activity were A/p Rekha Khoul from Curtin University, Australia, A/p Tan Aik Ling, Ph.D. from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Arif Hidayat, M.Si, Ph.D.Ed from  Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Indonesia.

The activity was attended by 276 participants of students, teachers, lecturers, and practitioners from UNJ and other institutions throughout Indonesia.  The training was also observed and received support from the Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office (Nahdiana, M.Si), who was represented by the  Junior and Senior High School Sector (Putoyo HS).  The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of UNJ, Prof. Dr. Suyono, M.Si. Officially opened the activity.

STEM Center of Excellence: FMIPA UNJ aims to develop characteristics of learning transformation by involving students in applying STEM to the various field for problem-solving efforts.   This center is under the guidance of the dean of FMIPA UNJ, Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih Nurjayadi, M.Si and Yuli Rahmawati, Ph.D as chairman.  This center is also supported by team members from multiple scientific areas at FMIPA, including Sri Rahayu, M.Biomed, and Ade Suryanda, M.Si (Biology), Dr. Hanhan  Dianhar, M.Si, and Dr. Irwanto, M.Pd (Chemistry), Dr. Meliasari M.Sc and Med Irsal, M.Kom (Mathematics) and Dr. Umiatin, M.Si and Dr. Firmanul Catur Wibowo, M.Pd (Physics). The STEM Center of FMIPA UNJ has also collaborated with several partners, including:

  3. Curtin University, Australia
  4. Murdoch University, Australia
  5. Edith Cowan University, Australia
  6. University of Technology Malaysia, Malaysia
  7. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand

The Dean of FMIPA UNJ (Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih Nurjayadi, M.Si) hopes this STEM  center can become a Center of Excellence in STEM learning, providing innovation and color in learning activities, research, and community service.
