Community Service Program (P2M) UNJ Mathematics Lecturers on Tidung Island, Thousand IslandsA Community Service Program or P2M has been implemented by UNJ Mathematics Lecturers on Saturday, July 22, 2023 to Monday, July 24, 2023. In this program, UNJ collaborates with the Education Office of the Thousand Islands Administrative Regency of DKI Jakarta Province.<\/p>\n
This P2M was held at SMK Negeri 61 Jakarta which is the only vocational high school in the Thousand Islands. The activity was officially opened by the Principal of SMK N 61 DKI Jakarta, Mr. Heru Puspito, S,Pd. In his speech, he expressed his happiness as the host and at the same time appreciated this activity as a means to advance the quality of education on Tidung Island. He also added that this activity should be organized on an ongoing basis in order to have a significant impact.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Mr. Dr. Makmuri, M.Si., as a representative of UNJ mathematics lecturers expressed his gratitude to the Thousand Islands Administrative Regency Education Office represented by the Principal of SMK N 61 Jakarta for their willingness to assist in the implementation of P2M activities. He emphasized that one of the important tasks of lecturers from the Tri Dharma of Higher Education is community service. “Community Service is carried out to disseminate the results of research and teaching that have been carried out so that the benefits and impacts can be felt by the community,” he said. Also present at the opening was the Head of SDN Tidung 03, Mrs. Rustini.<\/p>\n
The activity did not only target elementary school students, elementary, junior high, and vocational school teachers, but also involved the general public around Tidung Island, with details of 25 elementary school students, 25 elementary school teachers, 10 junior high school teachers, 15 vocational school teachers, and 25 community members. The participants were provided with materials focused on developing math and technology-based skills. This is considering that the lecturers involved in this activity come from five study programs, namely, S1 Mathematics Education study program, S2 Mathematics Education, S1 Mathematics, S1 Statistics, and S1 Computer Science.<\/p>\n
In addition, students from the mathematics group also helped in the implementation of this activity. Students were given the opportunity to gain valuable experience in community service activities with lecturers.<\/p>\n
The participants seemed enthusiastic and happy with this activity. This can be seen from the participation and willingness of the participants to follow from the beginning to the end of the activity. It is hoped that after receiving materials from lecturers, the participants can implement them in their respective professions. At the end of the activity, participants provided input so that activities like this need to be held more, so that they get useful knowledge and knowledge.<\/p>\n
