KSP Macaca is one of the study groups in the Department of Biology, FMIPA UNJ that is committed to the world of conservation ecology, especially primates. SP Macaca was founded on October 14, 2002, by a group of students majoring in Biology who care about primates and conservation in Indonesia. KSP Macaca with its activities aims to contribute to the conservation of ecosystems.

Programs of KSP Macaca

KSP Macaca is under the guidance and guidance of Ade Suryanda, M.Sc. KSP Macaca tries to carry out various activities to achieve the organization’s goals in terms of ecosystem conservation and conservation. KSP Macaca does not only carry out activities on campus, several activities that have been carried out by KSP Macaca include:

– Member Inauguration

Member Inauguration aims to recruit new members. The activities carried out were in the form of supplying field materials, training in journal writing, observing primates directly in their natural habitat, and a Seminar on Research Results. Finally, the inauguration of members of KSP Macaca VIII was held at SP Bodogol, Gunung Gede Pangrango on January 28-31, 2010.

– Macaca monitoring

This is a research activity that is carried out regularly by observing the activity and number of groups of Long-Tailed Monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) in Muara Angke Wildlife Sanctuary and Cibubur Campground.

Journal Club

Journal Club is a relaxed discussion group to discuss research journals, research proposals, research results, etc.

Ecology Training

In this activity, the members are invited to know more about everything about ecological research, including Primates, Mammals, Vegetation Analysis, Herpets, and Insects.

Guiding Training

This activity is in collaboration with several senior high schools with the aim of training students in ecological research to conserve ecosystems.
