History of KPB Nycticorax UNJ

The Nycticorax Bird Watching Group, State University of Jakarta is a bird-watching group that was born on March 25, 1994, through the initiative of Mr. Paskal Sukandar as the founder and coach of this group.

KPB Nycticorax UNJ was formed to deal with bird conservation problems in Indonesia. He feels that the condition of birds in Indonesia is in a critical period and the role of groups engaged in conservation in ornithology is still not optimal. KPB Nycticorax UNJ is one of the pioneers in the birth of other bird watching groups at various universities and non-governmental organizations in Indonesia as well as the oldest study group in the Biology Department, FMIPA UNJ

In its development, KPB Nycticorax has experienced many ups and downs since the formation of this group. However, despite its shortcomings, until now KPB Nycticorax UNJ has shown that this study group can still maintain its existence with hard work from various parties, starting with Mr. Paskal Sukandar and members of this study group. In addition, KPB Nycticorax has also scored various achievements in the bird watching category in several birdwatching competitions such as the Malang Tahura Birdwatching, Water Bird Watching Race in Surabaya, and others. Several young seeds who have the ability and consistency in the field of ornithology are also printed in this group and some have worked in government and private research institutions.

OBJECTIVES AND BENEFITS

KPB Nycticorax UNJ was formed to serve as a forum for students, especially the Department of Biology, UNJ to develop abilities in the field of ornithology and to produce inspiring and professional bird watchers based on family.
