Wednesday (01/03/2023), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNJ held an event to sign a Cooperation Agreement with the Center for Applied Microbiology Research-Organization for Biological and Environmental Research in Meeting Room Floor 6, Hasyim Asjarie Building, Campus A UNJ East Jakarta.

The activity was opened directly by the Dean of the UNJ Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih, M.Sc. In her remarks she said that this activity could be a good start to start many other collaborations both related to research, educational collaboration, and collaboration in writing articles that will be published.

This can be very useful in enriching national cooperation between UNJ, BRIN and partners.
Further remarks were delivered by the Head of the Center for Applied Microbiology – BRIN, Dr. Ahmad Fathoni, stated that this collaboration was a downstream effort in creating useful products. So that research orientation is not only based on publications and patents, but also products that can be implemented in society.

On this occasion, the focus of research is related to the development of the quality of cocoa (Theobroma cacao) based on yeast fermentation and lactic acid bacteria (LAB), identification and analysis of enzymes and volatile compounds from yeast and LAB in improving the quality of fermented cocoa, a control of pathogenic microbes and component analysis. bioactive.

This collaboration is expected to be a research leap that can be developed with partners in the field of biotechnology into innovations that can be useful for society, especially small business units, the industrial world and stakeholders.
