Technology has a very important role in our life today. In many aspects of life, technology allows us to do things that were previously impossible. In education, technology is the key to extending and enhancing learning. One form of technology that can be utilized in the world of education, especially mathematics is a scientific calculator ( Scientific calculator ).

A scientific calculator is a calculator designed to perform more complex mathematical and scientific operations than a simple calculator. These calculators usually have mathematical functions

such as trigonometry, logarithms, exponentials, and programming operations such as the IF, FOR, and WHILE functions. In addition, the scientific calculator can also perform calculation operations on decimals and fractions, and change the calculation mode between degrees and radians for trigonometric functions.

In this regard, the Jakarta State University Mathematics Education Study Program in collaboration with Casio Education Indonesia held a Webinar with the theme “Teaching Mathematics with Technology”. This activity was held on Tuesday 14 March 2023 at 13.00 – 15.00 WIB online via Zoom Cloud Meeting with speakers from Casio Education Indonesia. The event was attended by 183 Mathematics Education Study Program students from various batches.

The event began with an opening by a presenter, followed by singing the Indonesia Raya song and an opening prayer. Furthermore, the delivery of remarks by Ms. Dwi Antari Wijayanti, M.Pd. as the Coordinator of the UNJ Mathematics Education Study Program and Mrs. Inge Stephani as the Education Manager of CASIO Education Indonesia, and Mr. Dr. Esmar Budi, M.Sc. Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of FMIPA UNJ, representing the Dean of FMIPA UNJ who gave a speech as well as opened the Webinar activity. Material presentation and discussion session by resource person Mrs. Pientha Glenys Amanti, S.Pd., MM. moderated by Mr. Agus Agung Permana, S.Sc., M.Pd.

It is hoped that by holding this activity, students of the Mathematics Education Study Program as teacher candidates can use technology in learning mathematics.
