The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) is one of the faculties at the Jakarta State University (UNJ) which has the duties, authorities and responsibilities in providing education and science development in the MIPA and MIPA fields. FMIPA UNJ was established at the same time as the Jakarta Teacher Training and Education Institute (IKIP) became UNJ based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) 093/1999 dated 4 August 1999, and the inauguration was carried out by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on 31 August 1999 at the State Palace. FMIPA UNJ which manages undergraduate study programs (S1) namely Mathematics Education, Mathematics, Physics Education, Physics, Chemistry Education, Chemistry, Biology and Biology Education. In 2012, FMIPA UNJ was mandated to manage, implement and develop the field of further education at the Masters (S2) level based on the Decree (SK) of the Director General of Higher Education No. 2244/E1.3/HK/2012 dated November 9, 2012. The Masters Program in Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNJ includes Masters in Mathematics Education, Masters in Physics Education, Masters in Chemistry Education and Masters in Biology Education. Furthermore, in 2013, FMIPA UNJ was also given the mandate to manage the Computer Science Study Program based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 82/E/O/2013 with operating license No. 138/KPT/I/2016 together with the permit for the implementation of the Statistics Study Program from the Director General of Higher Education No 52/KPT/I/2016

The quality of the lecturers was very heavy in the 90s, salute to the lecturers whose dedication was very high. Hopefully in the future the facilities for the mathematics department will be more complete

I am grateful to be part of the alumni of FMIPA UNJ, especially with all the extraordinary developments of the Faculty. FMIPA always supports and appreciates the achievements of every student in academic and non-academic fields. Even though I am currently working not according to my field of study, I admit that this is thanks to the provisions given by the lecturers, especially in teaching public speaking, so that I can be confident that I can develop in my profession even though I come from a different scientific field.

"Lectures at UNJ Chemistry are equipped with good theoretical and analytical skills, and are taught by competent lecturers in their fields. In addition, our lecturers are very full of support to channel their students' talents / abilities in any field, including Student Writing Competition (LKTM). No only LKTM in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, even in different fields such as Art. In fact, I was a Finalist of the 2007 National LKTM for the Arts in Surakarta, under the guidance of Mrs. Irma, my favorite young chemistry lecturer at that time. Currently, my job is R&D (Research and Development). Of course work as an R&D in making formulations, analyzing and evaluating products, all of which require sufficient basic chemical knowledge. Alhamdulillah, many lecture materials at UNJ Chemistry are quite relatable and relevant to current work. Hopefully UNJ Chemistry always produces the best alumni and is useful for the nation and state, and is always relevant in every challenge of the times

The staff in the mathematics study program are very helpful, but the staff at the service faculty are a little less friendly. Lecturers are very competent in their respective fields. The classrooms are very comfortable. Religious activities are in line with learning activities. It is better if information on job opportunities and information on scholarships/courses can be disseminated more through a platform that can be accessed by many people. Class placement may be able to use the system so that it does not conflict.

Studying at FMIPA UNJ/Chemistry provided an opportunity for me to be able to learn more deeply about chemistry, both in terms of theoretical and practical in the laboratory. Lecturers have good knowledge and provide attractive teaching techniques that make it easier for students to understand simple material concepts. Even though at that time the analytical instrumentation facilities were not yet complete, the theory of the basic concepts of analysis was given well enough so that I could apply this knowledge when I continued my postgraduate studies and at my current job. However, cooperation with other institutions, especially overseas at that time, was still lacking, thus providing limited opportunities for students from my generation at that time to increase their network. It is currently very important to improve the competence of skills possessed and get the opportunity to develop a career.
