Empowering Global Consciousness: Spreading Awareness of Sustainable Fashion
[Indonesia, February 28, 2024] – Following the successful organization of the international empowerment event themed “Empowering Global Consciousness: Spreading Awareness of Sustainable Fashion,” we proudly announce the achievements and positive impacts we have accomplished.
The event held on February 28, 2024, provided profound insights into the importance of sustainable fashion and its global environmental and societal impacts. Through a series of discussions, workshops, and presentations, participants gained a better understanding of how environmentally responsible fashion practices can play a crucial role in achieving a more sustainable world.
“We are delighted to see the enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by the participants in understanding and applying sustainable fashion concepts,” said Rafly Maragani, initiator of the International Community Empowerment. “This event is not only about imparting knowledge but also about inspiring real actions for positive change in the fashion industry.”
One of the main highlights of this event was the emphasis on the importance of education and consumer awareness in choosing environmentally friendly and fair fashion products. Participants were encouraged to participate in practical sessions highlighting sustainable clothing practices, including upcycling, the use of eco-friendly materials, and the implementation of high ethical standards throughout the supply chain.
“This is an important initial step in the journey towards transforming the fashion industry into a more sustainable one,” added Alif Rahman Hakim, initiator of the International Community Empowerment. “We hope that through collective efforts like this, we can create a significant positive impact on the environment, society, and future generations.”

The international empowerment event was organized by initiators Rafly Maragani (The Most Outstanding Student of FMIPA UNJ 2024) and Alif Rahman Hakim (1st Runner Up Outstanding Student of FMIPA UNJ 2024) as part of a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, and Sentra Abiseka in Pekanbaru, Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The event took place on February 28, 2024, on Zoom Cloud Meetings, starting from 10:00 to 11:30. It was attended by 25 participants from various 7 countries (Indonesia, Algeria, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Korea)
The event commenced with an opening address by the Chairman of the Outstanding Student Forum of FMIPA UNJ, Muhammad Fadillah, followed by a presentation on “Empowering Global Consciousness: Spreading Awareness of Sustainable Fashion,” presented by Alif and Rafly, followed by documentation and closing remarks.
