Guest Lecturer – Implementing International Curricula (Cambridge and IB Diploma Program) in High School Biology Education

International Kemahasiswaan Kolaborasi Pendidikan Seminar

Universitas Negeri Jakarta is on a mission to become a leading global university, and this vision has set the bar high for the Biology Education Study Program to evolve into a globally recognized program. Achieving this vision requires proactive steps, including enhancing the quality and competence of future teachers to ensure they are fully equipped to teach biology content in national and international educational settings.

To fulfill this goal, it’s essential to enrich students’ knowledge of biology content, improve their science literacy, and elevate their pedagogical competencies. For students to successfully teach globally, they must be equipped with expertise in international curricula. To this end, we hosted a Guest Lecturer session to provide a better learning experience and broaden perspectives on the world of education, especially in the context of international curricula, with insights directly from seasoned practitioners involved in implementing the Cambridge and IB curricula in schools.

Ibu Azizah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Gr, an experienced educator who has spent over 15 years teaching using international curricula at Sekolah Bogor Raya, delivered the guest lecture. The session was attended by 30 bilingual students from the Biology Education Program, class of 2022 and 2023, and the course lecturers. The session went smoothly and successfully, with participants actively engaging in discussions and sharing their newfound insights from the experience.
