SEA-TEACHER 2024 Batch 10 with Dong Thap University, Vietnam

International Kemahasiswaan Kolaborasi Pendidikan

SEA-TEACHER (Southeast Asian Teacher Education Network) is an exciting program initiated by SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization). It is designed to enhance the quality of teacher education and foster regional collaboration across Southeast Asia. SEA-TEACHER promotes the mobility of pre-service teachers within the region, allowing them to gain professional experience, develop new teaching strategies, and share best practices in education.

In 2024, the Biology Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) had the privilege of participating in the SEA-TEACHER Batch 10 program. This year, five students from Dong Thap University, Vietnam, joined as inbound students in four different programs at UNJ: Elementary School Teacher Education, English Teacher Education, Mathematics Teacher Education, and Biology Education. Among them, Lam Truong Loc, also known as Aron, joined the Biology Education Study Program to learn alongside other students for 28 days.

The SEA-TEACHER activities started with an opening ceremony organized by the WR 4 Office of UNJ in collaboration with the BP3 Institute, followed by an exciting campus tour. Activities followed this in each respective study program. The students had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Betawi and explore Jakarta by visiting famous landmarks such as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and the Old Town (Kota Tua).

In addition to their academic and non-academic activities on campus, the Vietnamese exchange students were also allowed to experience teaching at two schools in Jakarta: SMP Labschool Rawamangun and SDN Rawamangun 12.

The program concluded successfully, leaving everyone with valuable experiences, and it is hoped that this collaboration will strengthen ties with Dong Thap University in the future.
