Collaboration in Thesis Defense between Physics Education and Chemistry Education Programs at FMIPA UNJ

Jakarta, August 15, 2023 – The Physics Education Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), held a very special thesis defense today. This event showcased collaboration between the Physics Education and Chemistry Education programs on campus, with the invitation of a distinguished external examiner.

The thesis defense took place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 08:00 to 17:00 WIB, in the university’s examination room. What made this event remarkable was the presence of Prof. Yuli Rahmawati, M.Sc, Ph.D, an expert in STEM education from the Chemistry Education Program at FMIPA UNJ. Prof. Yuli Rahmawati holds a doctoral degree from a prestigious university in Australia and possesses profound experience and knowledge in science education.

The invitation of Prof. Yuli Rahmawati as an external examiner is a crucial step in strengthening cooperation between the Physics Education and Chemistry Education programs at FMIPA UNJ. This collaboration between programs is expected to create new opportunities for research and development in the field of science education, particularly in the domains of physics and chemistry.

In his address, the Dean of FMIPA UNJ, Prof. Dr. (dean’s name), expressed, “We are excited to witness a closer collaboration between the Physics Education and Chemistry Education programs. This is a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education and research on our campus. We are grateful to Prof. Yuli Rahmawati for agreeing to be the external examiner today.”

Meanwhile, the Head of the Physics Education Program, (program head’s name), stated, “We hope that this collaboration will bring substantial benefits to both programs and assist our students in developing and innovating in the field of science education.”
