Curriculum Workshop

Curriculum Workshop

In order to update lecture material for physics study programs and physics education, a curriculum workshop was held on 14-15 October 2019 with the theme “Curriculum Evaluation in the Context of Developing a New Curriculum in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0” which took place at the Onih hotel, Bogor. This event involves all lecturers of physics study programs and physics education as a vehicle for discussion to determine lecture material for certain courses or add a number of courses deemed necessary. All updated material or added courses refer to the new curriculum in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

The topic discussed on the first day of October 14 2019 was changing the number of credits for several compulsory courses and determining the Course Modul. Some of the compulsory courses that underwent credit changes were Calculus I and II, which were originally 4 credits to 3 credits. The quantum mechanics course has changed to become an elective course which was originally a compulsory subject for physics study program students in semester 5. All of these changes will take effect from the start of the new 2020 school year.

In addition to discussing material changes for several courses, in the afternoon the physics study program lecturers and physics education held a separate meeting. This is to discuss some of the elective courses offered by each study program. This aims to support research from each group of areas of expertise. Several courses have been proposed by several lecturers as elective courses, such as condensed matter theory and analytical mechanics.

On the last day, October 15 2019, all lecturers gathered to discuss the division of working groups in making the SLP with the latest format for both courses that underwent changes and those that did not. The division of these groups is based on the supporting lecturer for the subject concerned. After all the lecturers got their respective assignments, the event was closed with a prayer.
