Data Science Camp

In order to increase students’ insights, knowledge, and skills regarding the application of science and technology in the industrial world, the Physics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jakarta State University regularly organizes Data Science Camp activities which are attended by 5th semester students. the COVID-19 pandemic, activities are carried out in the form of Exclusive Data Science Education and Training which will be held on:

Day : Tuesday – Thursday

Date : 15, 16, and 17 November 2022

Hours: 08.00 a.m – 05.00 p.m

Keynote: PT. Can AI Academy

Participants: 5th semester Physics Study Program students (Class of 2020)

On the first day, 15 November 2022, the activity was officially opened by Deputy Dean I Dr. Esmar Budi. Then, the event continued with remarks by the Physics Study Program Coordinator Dr. Widyaningrum Indrasari. After that, the event started with a prayer by Dr. Teguh Budi Prayitno. On this first day, the composition of the material provided is as follows

  • Introduction to Data Science (08.00-10.00 a.m)
  • Data Science with Excel (10.00 a.m-12.00 p.m)
  • Independent learning, assignments, and quizzes (01.00 – 05.00 p.m)

On the second day, November 16 2022, the material continued by explaining several Python applications for data science, including data processing and visualization. Before the event started, the speaker did a brainstorm from yesterday’s material regarding the use of Python in data science. The composition of the material for the second day is as follows

  • Python for Data Science (08.00-10.00 a.m)
  • Data Preprocessing and Visualization (10.00 a.m-12.00 p.m)
  • Independent learning, assignments, and quizzes (01.00-05.00 p.m)

On the last day, 17 November 2022, the material will continue with the continued application of Python in data science related to exploratory data analysis and the application of machine learning. Both of these materials require previous material, especially related to how to process and visualize data. The material composition for the last day is as follows

  • Exploratory Data Analyst (08.00-10.00 a.m)
  • Machine Learning (10.00 a.m -12.00 p.m)
  • Independent study, assignments, and quizzes (01.00-05.00 p.m)

Furthermore, the event was officially closed by the Physics Study Program Coordinator Dr. Widyaningrum Indrasari.
