Online Physics Open House 2020
In connection with the campus introduction process for Universitas Negeri Jakarta students, the Universitas Negeri Jakarta physics study program held a 2020 UNJ Physics Open House event with the theme “Physics’ road to the future” which was held on Saturday, 15 August 2020. This event is an annual program that aims to provide an introduction to the scope of Universitas Negeri Jakarta physics, such as research laboratories, areas of expertise, courses related to areas of expertise, and so on. What is different about this annual event is that this year’s open house was held online via Google Meet considering that the Covid-19 pandemic has not yet ended.
This event starts at 10.00 a.m. and ends at 03.00 p.m. Apart from that, this event was also attended by around 70 students and several physics lecturers. Several students presented several fields of study that are mostly in demand, such as instrumentation physics, materials physics, and renewable energy. This can give students, especially new students, an idea of how to choose their area of interest and related subjects. Apart from that, an equally important goal is to motivate students that there are many job opportunities available in each field of expertise.
